The Love Revolution

One of the Christian communities most popular evangelists, Joyce Meyer, has been working hard to start what she calls The Love Revolution. In John 13:34-35 Christ said, A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. For believers, this should be our motivation, our reason for living, and our life fulfilling prophecy, but so often we get so caught up in our own lives that we barely stop to think about our neighbors, much less people across the world.

When we stop to think about the gross amounts of human suffering on our planet, from children as young as 5 being forced into the sex trades, to human trafficking, to the little babies dying every day from starvation and disease due to the lack of food and water, it is very easy to get overwhelmed. It is easier not to think of these things, not to think of the people shivering on the cold concrete without a blanket, of the children who spend their lives without a single pair of shoes, enduring heat, cold, rocks, insects, broken glass...never knowing the simple basic comfort of a pair of shoes.

But YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! I know that times are hard, and that you are probably struggling a bit yourself, but I also know that most of use can scrape up $3.60 to buy a cup of coffee or a couple of bottles of soda. Can you make a small sacrifice and spend that $3.60 on a needy child this Christmas? Because that is all it takes to give a child a new pair of shoes. By donating $3.60, you can change a child's life forever! YOU really CAN make a difference!

Can you make a larger sacrifice and donate $36.00? If you can give less then a tank of gas, you can change the lives of 10 children, forever. YOU can be their hero, their guardian angel, a person who cares. You can help ease human suffering. You can be the hands of Jesus.

Christmas Shoes

This is our second year for LIFE’s Christmas Shoes Campaign.   With the help of our friends and partners we will present 200,000 children around the world with a Christmas gift that most have never owned or enjoyed...a brand-new pair of shoes.    

 Children in poverty stricken and undeveloped nations suffer cuts, bruises, infections and disease like hookworm in their feet.  Some are crippled for life because of infections in their feet as children.   

If you had to walk a mile in their shoes in this case, no shoes you would surely experience another side of life.  Giving them shoes and seeing the delight they feel, and pride of ownership, is part of the joy we experience in giving.
